Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a prevalent and potentially serious sleep disorder characterized by repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep. These interruptions occur when the muscles in the throat relax excessively, leading to a temporary blockage of the airway. This blockage reduces the oxygen flow to the brain, prompting brief awakenings (often unnoticed by the individual) to reopen the airway. This cycle can happen many times throughout the night, preventing the individual from achieving deep, restorative sleep and leading to various daytime symptoms and long-term health consequences if left untreated.

ORAL APPLIANCE THERAPY FOR SLEEP APNEA
One effective treatment for OSA is the use of an oral appliance, which is a custom-fitted device designed to maintain an open airway during sleep. These appliances work by slightly adjusting the position of the jaw and/or tongue to prevent airway obstruction.
